Cardiology

Department of internal medicine and cardiology consists of modern cardiologic examination room, ultrasound diagnostic cabinet and laboratory serving for diagnostics and treatment of patients with internistic and cardiologic pathologies.

Our team, led by Dr Andrijana Mirkovic Kostic uses cutting edge diagnostic tools and methods in order to diagnose and treat cardiologic pathologies.

Cardiologic examination:

Cardiologic examination consists of painless analysis using stethoscope, sphygmomanometer and ECG device in order to gain detailed insight into the patient condition. Examination can last up to 30 minutes.

Ultrasound examination of the heart

Ehocardiography, also known as ultrasound examination of the heart, is a diagnostic method that offers significant information regarding structure and function of the cardiac muscle, dimensions of coronary atria and ventricles, and cardiac blood flow. DOPPLER method enables assessment of the hemodynamic parameters.

Holter ECG placement (24h)

Holter ECG monitoring is technique used to track electrical activity of the heart, and discover possible disturbances in rhythm and frequency. Holter ECG device is small and comfortable for use, and it has to be carried for 24 hours. Once the device has been placed, patient can return to her/his normal everyday activities. Control appointment is scheduled 24h after holter placement. During the control examination, cardiologist will explain all the relevant findings.

Ergometric stress test

Ergometric stress test is an exercise preformed on a treadmill, with the purpose of testing an impact of physical exertion on cardiac activity. At the very beginning, patient starts walking slowly. The speed gradually increases while under control of cardiologist and attending nurse. This test can diagnose the presence of ischemic disease of heart muscle.

Blood pressure Holter (24h)

Blood pressure Holter (24h) is noninvasive technique of tracking the blood pressure. Holter device is small and comfortable for use, and it has to be carried for 24 hours. Control appointment is scheduled 24h after holter placement. During the control examination, cardiologist will discover any existing blood pressure oscillations.
